Goodies Digest 002
blues, buttons, and Eve Babitz
Hellooooo dolls!
This week’s Goodies Digest feels different- in the way a week does when something you’ve encountered or consumed quietly rearranges you. Inspired. Enchanted. Moving a bit softer. I started a new book and suddenly my inner monologue has molded around a world of words carefully strung by Eve Babitz. Her sentences are both languid and clever, some words are unfamiliar but intoxicating. Only halfway through her book and I feel as though I’m carrying her manifestos around with me like a secret. She’s amusingly intimate, and yet detached in a powerful way (gimme dat). I’ve drifted through the week half-elsewhere, buoyed by her voice, letting her way of seeing LA slip into my own, and I’m not upset about it. In fact, that enchantment has fueled this digest. Enjoy the issue!!!
Weekly saves
Word of the week
languor /ˈlaNG(ɡ)ər/ noun
the state or feeling, often pleasant, of tiredness. A state of gentle weariness or dreamy sluggishness; a relaxed, drifting mood
slowness without urgency
fatigue softened by ease or reverie
“Our winter days settled into a blue languor; even the early sunset couldn’t interrupt the daydream of a page-turning book beneath a warm blanket”
Curated with a blue conviction!

The art of balancing a certain messy magnetism with cool blue hues… it smells a little like someone who doesn’t quite try, yet alwayssss arrives composed.
Brand of the week

A part of being a creative is drawing parallels and blissful connections between two things that seem mutually exclusive. This Sézane loves New York campaign came to mind when I was diving into the Babitz book I mentioned earlier, Slow Days, Fast Company. Half Paris, half SoHo, entirely romantic with nothing to prove, the clothes say it all.
It’s allll film cameras hanging off easy coats, soft knits, collars worn slightly undone, as if winter effort would be embarrassing. Nowhere urgent to be, but still dressed the part to flirt. Oh mon dieuuuuu!
Song of the week
Open Tabs
Aaaand of course the reds and pinks are arriving right on time, flushing in anticipation of the 14th. Slip into the season - overdressed and confident. Ideally with an ounce of romance, but good lighting and a glass of wine could produce an equal amount of serotonin. a Sezane curation and narration inspired by Slow Days, Fast Company.

Popcorn, hot mint tea
Our remote is way too far
Guess I’ll read some more
Have a GREATTT week and weekend xxxx
