It is with a deeeeeep deep joy and honor that I got to attend the launch dinner for Grover Rad’s Collection 008 — Offerings. If you’re a familiar face, you’d know I once interned for the LA based eponymous ready-to-wear clothing company. If you’re a new friend, allow me to introduce you to a company and designer that will pivot how you perceive patterns foreverrrr. You’ll leave with newfound inspiration and questioning why your other clothes don’t spark conversation quite like a GR garment can.
Cliff notes version — epic founder, epic product, epic brand universe. Interior designer and art collector turned ready to wear designer, Lizzie is the boss I’ve both learned and grown the most under. She and the team (hello Fede you are epic) indubitably shaped my editorial eye, ignited the eBay sourcing bug, encouraged us to be inquisitive and push boundaries; actively perpetuating my love for art history, maximalism, and expression.

Although last October I had my final days on the team, this October I had the joy of celebrating the new collection at a launch dinner as we were immersed in a taste of the Grover Rad world at SVB. We gathered alongside tastemakers, founders, artists, designers, stylists, writers, publicists, etc., all adorned in Grover Rad. Let’s discuss.

“ Born out of a desire to create clothes that start conversations, Lizzie Grover Rad founded the women’s ready-to-wear brand in 2022. Each collection covers a topic where the concepts are presented through the use of historical imagery and art. Grover Rad’s signature prints are historic, graphic and at times controversial in their messaging. The brand proves that art and fashion can coexist while sparking meaningful conversation.”
The dinner was an absolute dream, a total pinch me moment.
If you ask me, it’s both rare and remarkable seeing the underbelly of a brand and to still love them, champion them after your time is done. What a testament to the people who built it and have shared it.
